How do I open Urd's source in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?
This is part of the Well-Traveled questline in Asgard. As part of the quest "Well Traveled" in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which takes place in Asgard, players are invited to collect some water from the Well of Urdr. Getting there is easy: just follow the signs until you enter the well. But the well is closed with a light puzzle that can only be unlocked by solving its riddles.
The first light beam is simple - it only needs to be directed straight ahead to unlock the first part. But once you get to the well, a larger puzzle will appear, which uses the same mechanics to solve. The essence of this is this: the rays of light are fed from different pillars. This room has one beam that needs to be split to open the well.
This is not necessarily a difficult puzzle, but in a dark cave it can be difficult to see well, making the task much more difficult. That's the whole trick - the solution is to direct the original beam of light towards a well-hidden light at the opposite end of the room, above the entrance to the area. This will require you to look beyond what is in front of you, back to the last room.
The sphere in the lower left of the screen (indicated by the number 1) is the source of energy, and the uppermost orange sphere (indicated by the number 2) is where the beam must be directed in order to move forward with the puzzle. Once you place this first beam in the correct position, your NPC companion, Tyr, will notice it: "You've done this before, huh?"
Two beams will shoot out from the orange ball at the top of the screen, hitting the balls labeled 3 and 4.
From here, you will need to walk down to the sealed well, where there is a movable ball (labeled 7) that will need to be adjusted to match the closest beam to it. You need to position the bottom ball as shown below and in the photo above, connecting the beam to position 8.
This will direct the beam to another statue (8). Make sure it is aligned correctly to get exactly centered. You may need to make some changes!
On the other side of the room, go to sphere 4 and connect another beam of light to the last unlit sphere (labeled 5 and off-screen in the image with a mark) closest to it. When the last ball (5) lights up, place this beam so that it hits the last container, marked 6, in the inner circle closest to the well. If positioned correctly, the well will open and you can dive into it. Then you will take some water from the well and the game will continue.
