Does the game have time to investigate in Disco Elysium
Time in Disco Elysium does not flow in real time - it moves during conversations and interactions with objects, but stops during exploration. What's more, the clock stops at 2:00 am and you have to go to bed to start the next day. However, this does not mean that the tasks available in Disco Elysium are limited in time and must be completed as soon as possible. When you receive a new task, it is added to the journal along with the date, such as Monday 8:42. When the task is completed, it will go to the corresponding tab along with information about when it was completed.
If a clock symbol appears next to the quest, this does not mean that the time is running out and you need to rush to complete it. In the description of some quests you will find information on what day and at what time they can be completed. A very good example is the quest that ends the first day of the investigation, in which you need to talk to Kim - End-of-day debrief with Kim. You can complete the challenge by trying to enter the hotel room, but only after 10pm and after paying Garth for the damage. The second example quest to be completed by a certain time is "Find money for rent and pay Garth" - every day until 21:00 you need to collect 20 reais to pay for the night, otherwise the door to your room in Whirling-In-Rags will be closed.
Quests that need to be completed at a specific time won't disappear if you don't complete them on the same day. You can go to bed and start a new day - the task will still be available in your diary.
