In a new update of August 2021, RUST added the opportunity to players to go fishing. Read below to learn how to start!
Bait
To catch the fish in Rust, you will need a bait. Some items you can already use in your inventory, for example, food. If you want to get a specific bait (for example, larvae or worms), you need to start planting plants. Collecting plants, you have a chance to find a bait for use.
Fish
In order to fish in the game, you need to purchase a manual fishing rod. You can buy it in the automatic on the outpost for 80 voms. As soon as you get the fishing rod, find the place for fishing, as shown in the figure above. Think where you catch the fish. For example, you will not be able to catch a freshwater creature in the ocean.
Note: At the moment we have information about fishing management only for PCs, but not for consoles.
Office for fishing is pretty simple. Find the desired area and aim on it with the right mouse button. When you feel that they aimed well, use the left mouse button to throw the fishing rod. If you need to adjust the position, use A and D to move. When your wague goes under the water, use S to wind it.
What to do with fish
There are many things you can do with what you caught. Sometimes you can even fish on scrap metal! For thickening hunger, fish can be cooked and eat. It can also be stored to get more items. The most important thing, if you do not want to eat or gut the fish, find the benchmark. You can sell your fish for scrap metal.
