Discover the location of the key items you'll need to fully unlock the crypt in Mortal Kombat 11. While it's basically a fighting game, Mortal Kombat 11 is so much more if you know where to look. Buried in the Konquer menu is a randomized Krypt on Shang Tsung Island, a side dungeon filled with random chests that reward cosmetics, concept art, and lots of extra fluff in exchange for Krypt Kay items. Navigating the Crypt requires certain key items found either in its halls or in the combat challenge mode of the Combat Towers and Towers of Time. In this guide, you will find information on the location of each key element and how to find each of them in the crypt or towers.

Kronika's Mythic Engine, Shao Kahn's Warhammer

You cannot miss it. You start with the Epoch Engine, so there's nothing you can do about it. The War Hammer goes right down the path after you are met by Shang Tsung. Head to the end of the palace entrance area where it will be nice and clean to sit in the temple.

Pearl of the Living

First (of many) relatively hidden key items in the Crypt, you'll find the Pearl of Life in a fallen meteor that lands in the Courtyard on the east side of the island. To reach the courtyard, head south through the Forge and west through the mountain pass. You'll cross a wooden bridge with a door that requires a Dragon Amulet to open (more on that later), and as you turn north again, you'll see a row of statues of famous Mortal Kombat characters. A meteor containing a Life Stone will break through Raiden's statue upon entering the area. Hack it with Shao Khan's war hammer and take the stone. Besides, there should be a gong nearby, and the gongs should be ringing, right? This will open the next door.

Cracked Horn of Motaro

If you were to head east from the central area (to the left of the Warhammer location), you would come across a door that says you need a Gem to open it. The item you currently have. Just place the gem on the door to open it and you will come across a room with many chests and a small stream running through its center. Continue moving across the water and towards the opening to your left. You will come across many chambers sealed with easily accessible levers. Pull them all out and beyond the rightmost barred passage is Motaro's Cracked Horn. You will use this key item to enter Goro's Lair under the main island. The door to the Lair is at the end of the Courtyard, and looks like it's open.

Amulet of the Protector of Earthrealm, Shattered Staff of the Thunder God

The Protector of Earthrealm Amulet is the first Krypt key item you'll find in the Towers of Time game. All you have to do is complete the training towers, which are not that hard even if you don't know any of the characters. A.I. slow, inefficient, and generally quite forgiving. While combo guides are for another day, use the turret tutorials to practice hitting your combos in real combat. It's harder than it looks. Again, you will earn this key item by completing the tutorials, which you must then take to the broken statue of Raiden as shown below. Insert the Amulet into the base of the statue to get the Thunder God's Shattered Staff, the key item you'll need to unlock the room where the Dragon Amulet lives.

Fragment of the Mind, Heart and Soul of the One Being and the Heart of the Burning One

After passing through the large door opened by Motaro's Cracked Horn, you will take the elevator down to Goro's Lair. When you reach the first large room with four statues of Goro, you'll find a door on your right that requires three separate keys. They are fragments of the mind, heart and soul of the One Being. This is another set of Towers of Time / Towers of Combat items. Perform 10 Fatalities, 10 Brutalities and 10 Mercy respectively to open the Fragments and thus the door. Behind it is a flame trap, and behind it is a chest for 80,000 Koins. Yes, 80. One thousand. This chest contains the Heart of Flame. More on how this is used below.

Blindfolded Kenshi Takahashi

From the room with the "Fragments" door, go south until you find Goro's corpse sitting on his throw and go through the tunnel to your right. You will come across an arsenal with a lot of interactive items - they are focused only on knowledge, without the use of Krypt. Head deeper into the Treasure Room through the corridor on the west side of the room. You will arrive at the prison, and behind them is the corpse of Kenshi. Collect the eye patch. Oh, and you can use the Heart of Flame along with the Spear in the small area behind the Court statues to set the caged bodies on fire, opening chests on either side of that area.

Scorpion Spear

In Goro's Throne Room, take the path further south to the right side of his throne. You will end up in the Armory and at the back of the terminal there should be a glowing chain that you should recognize as the chain attached to the Scorpion Spear. Click on the glowing metal to get the Spear.

Amulet of Ermak

From Goro's throne room, head east. Walk to the back of his dining room and take two quick rights to get to the long path on the south side of the hall. At the end of the hall there is a gate with a chain behind which there is an elevator. Take the elevator up and follow the path. Once you reach the bottom pit, Ermak's body will fall from the sky, pierced by a spike. Take the Amulet from the body as soon as the cutscene ends.

Dragon Amulet

First, you need to head to the back of the dining room again, but this time turn left towards the door blocking your path. You need a skeleton key to open this particular lock, and these keys are randomly dropped from numerous chests around Shang Tsung Island. You are guaranteed one of these in one of the chests at the end of the opening hallway - on the left side, select the last chest closest to the main path. Apart from this one gift, you are a slave to the RNG gods for additional keys. In any case, when you pass through this door, you will need to go through two corridors of traps. Don't worry, they are not difficult. Take the first left path you see one day behind the second set of traps and you will come across a door that can be opened with the Shattered Staff. The open door looks like this. Behind the door is another trap room. Take another turn to the left, dodging the swinging pendulums of death, and reach the chest of 20,000 coins. Dragon Amulet inside.

Amronet Kroniki

Behind the Dragon door is the Kytinn Hive and you will need three amulets to open it: Kronika's Amulet, Shinnok's Amulet, and Cetrion's Amulet. You will receive the first one - Kronika's Amulet - as a reward for giving 1000 Koins in tribute to the demon shrine in the courtyard. You cannot miss it. It is large, golden, with purple flames.

Amulet of Shinnok

It's hard, primarily because earning is grinding. You will be crafting this item at the Forge using three Ensorcelled key items: Demon Heart, Dragon Heart and Skeleton Soul. Here is the location of each:

1. Demon Heart Spell Location: Lower the various hanging bodies scattered around the Krypt with the Scorpion Spear. You will receive the item as a random drop.
2. Enchanted location of the Eye of the Dragon: Behind the trap corridor that led you to the Dragon Amulet, instead of taking your left hand directly into the hall with endlessly respawning spiders. Kill them. Lot. The item will eventually drop.

Ensorcelled Gem of Trapped Soul: Behind a breakable wall on the right side of the first corridor is the Deadwoods. You will find a container that requires 10,000 Soul Fragments. When you have this ridiculous amount, you can open the container and take the Soul. Once you have all three of these key items, go to the forge and by paying 60,000 Koins and 1500 additional Soul Fragments, you will receive Shinnok's Amulet.

Amulet of Cetrion

Less hammer than Shinnok's Amulet - but still a grind - to get Cetrion's Amulet, you need to complete 50 deaths against her in the Tower trials. Then go to her head in the courtyard with the statues, pierce her head and get the item. When you have all three Elder God Amulets, you can unlock the elevator behind the Dragon Amulet door. What is waiting outside is for you to discover. That's all you need to know about getting all the Krypt Key items in Mortal Kombat 11. While they might be a bit of a hammer, we think NetherRealm's latest release is one of the best entries the franchise has seen in a while. -that time.
