Guide: How to quickly gain power in Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Play as a Viking named Eivor, who was trained from childhood to become a fearless warrior.

You have to lead your clan from lifeless icy Norway to find a new home in the fertile lands of England in the 9th century. You must establish a village and curb this unruly land by any means necessary to secure your place in Valhalla.

How to quickly gain power in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?

Assassin's Creed Valhalla ditches the leveling system from Odyssey and replaces it with a power level mechanic that is much, much more forgiving. So much so that Assassin's Creed Valhalla does not have a single experience booster. While functionally similar to traditional leveling, there are a few things players should consider when checking and leveling up their power level.

Power level in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is increased by spending skill points gained from leveling up and arcane. The power level does not increase by itself when you level up in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Instead, you will be rewarded with two skill points every time you fill up your experience meter (roughly 5,000 experience). Putting those skill points into your skill tree is what actually increases your power level, so in theory you could manually lower your power level by removing skills.

Skill points can also be obtained from world riddles (blue dots). Some Mysteries, such as the World Events that have replaced side quests, give a significant amount of experience, but some others give one or two skill points upon completion. Cairns, fly agaric puzzles, and shrines are examples of sacraments that give skill points (shrines give the most, but the amount depends on the shrine: the more you collect, the better the payout). Upgrading armor and weapons does increase your damage and health, but does not directly affect your power level. The number at the bottom of your inventory will only increase with skill points invested, so you need to make sure you spend them to increase your Strength.

The power scaling is also more forgiving than the old Odyssey level cap. There are four difficulty levels depending on your power level in relation to the area or the recommended power level of the quest. Green means you have leveled up this content and it will be easy, white is on the same level, red means you are lower and the enemies will be difficult, and red skull indicates you are severely underrated and the enemies will be either one - shot at you or came close to it. The window for power level scaling is plus or minus 30, so if your power level is 90, anything between power level 30 and 120 will be fine for you.

And here's what's interesting: aside from some of the bosses, the power level does not greatly increase the enemy's health in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. That's true, but you can really deal with more difficult areas and content if you're very stealthy or damn good at dodging and parrying. The enemy's attack damage increases dramatically, so you need to make sure you don't get hit.
