The confusion of Yggdrasil hides a large number of threats in Etrian Odyssey 5: Beyond the Myth. That is why, if you expect to remain safe and sound in the Labyrinth, you must always act consciously.
It's far from easy, but, fortunately, there are a certain number of things that perfect not only your own ability to survive, but also your performance in the labyrinth. The newest guilds are required to be extraordinarily careful and cover all their own bases when entering the Confusion. There are four hero races to fill your party of 5, and you'll need them all in Etrian Odyssey 5. Each race has a special racial ability, either used in the Union Gauge in battle or otherwise increases your own overall capabilities.
For example, the Divines have access to the Detect Mana skill, which is required to contact the magical barrier on the 1st stratum. Animals, on the other hand, earn Brute Force access at level 5, and this can be used to move languid objects out of the way at a later time. Access to each skill of the race is completely needed to explore the labyrinth and conduct missions.
Don't make the same mistake that most gamers do, don't neglect your own divine powers. They are needed to collect materials and merit the newest areas of the Labyrinth. Have one character specialize in Fishing and the other in Foraging. Another must learn to care for animals. Grinding and mining are similarly quite important. Extract these abilities first so you don't have to worry about them anymore.
There are 2 main things in the economic market that you need to store at all times: wasted materials and equipment. You might not want to learn the underground labyrinth without some kind of healing supplies, especially at a low level, for this reason it is good to get a certain number of honey kits. Remember to stock up whenever you stop at the economic market to sell materials.
The supply of products in the economic market will slowly increase as long as you continue to sell the materials you have found. Since the Labyrinth does not have a huge amount of hidden equipment, you need to purchase a lot of it in the town. Just make sure your team is well-equipped before moving on to the newest floor, or you might run into trouble.
You make a map in Etrian Odyssey and it's up to you how much detail you put into it. Moreover, try to notice everything completely in order to navigate on any floor in a very ordinary way. You are required to mark things like floors, walls, doors, stairs, and various harvest points, but it would be appropriate to expand and mark everything else.
Mark chests with jewels, including if you have already opened them. If you encounter someone with a request in the Labyrinth, try to spot it with an exclamation point (or something that stands out). Doubtful tiles on the location are similarly excellent to mark with a question mark. You can also draw in the water with blue colors to make it easier to understand the layout of the field.
When marking the floors, you end up tripping over the stairs leading to the next stage. Next, be sure to climb it to register the next floor, before going down and continue. You will acquire the next floor missions from the motel before you begin to teach it properly.
Formido Oppognatura Exsequens (FOE) are massive monsters that openly roam the floors. By all means, you should beware of them the 1st time you meet them. While some FOEs are passive and walk around in a pattern that is relatively easy to eliminate, others are hostile and will hunt you until you leave the area.
