How to survive in The Forest? This is an in-development open-world survival horror video game developed by Endnight Games using the Unity 3D engine.

An early alpha version of the game was released on Steam on May 30, 2014. An action-adventure horror game with elements of survival in an open world and a first-person view. The protagonist is the only survivor of a plane crash on a strange and seemingly uninhabited island. The goal is to survive. Shelter and fire will be needed to survive the cold night. The game has to get food and water. There is also craft. You can cut down trees, set up tents, make traps, cook food and much more. Your enemy, in addition to wildlife, are local cannibal mutants. You can give them a fight, or hide from them in the forest.

The main rules for survival in The Forest

Never leave things unattended.

Remember, you are not alone on the island. It is worth at least a little retreat into the thick of the forest, as you will be in danger at every step. Moreover, you will attract the attention of not only wild animals, but also the inhabitants of this terrible island. In addition, your caught dinner at the stake can easily disappear. You just have to be distracted, and you will remain hungry, which in turn will lead to death.

Make sure you do everything on time.

Want to make a fire, build a hut or set a trap? See the survival guide, choose the desired item, install it. After that, we stock up on the necessary material.
However, in reality it is not so simple. For example: The fence has not yet been fully completed, which means that it does not exist yet. After all, even through the inserted boards you can safely pass, which the owners of the island will be happy to use. In any case, the camp will have to be built, this is the only way to survive, and good protection from various ill-wishers.

Try to avoid the locals.

Cannibals are the main and at the moment almost the only threat to the character. If you want to hide from them, try to find a small cave, swim away to a wrecked yacht, or wall yourself up in four walls.
Hannibals are not the only problem for the character, you can meet a shark in the water. The best tactic against them is to stay away.
Local residents walk in small groups of 3, 4 individuals.
But the longer you sit in one place, the more often they will visit you.
One soothes, only a sleeping structure helps to survive and get enough sleep. But savages can always interrupt a ward's sleep. At first, this is almost inevitable.

Take advantage of the stupidity of the enemy.

The response rate of the locals is so-so. If you constantly dodge around them and hit them with an ax nonstop, sooner or later they will fall. But he will not die immediately, at first he will writhe in agony. The intelligence of the local population is generally ambiguous. Having received a butt on the forehead, they keep their distance, try to go to your rear, wait for the right moment.

Don't use everything.

Good food can improve health, and reptile skins are used for clothing and provide additional protection against savage axes. There are also mushrooms with berries in the game, both useful and poisonous. It is not difficult to distinguish one from the other - "bad" berries will clog the stomach, but take away health. And the hero unequivocally groans.
Do not try to taste raw meat, the corpses of various birds, animals, sharks, turtles.

Don't be afraid of hunger.

You can not keep crumbs in your mouth for at least two weeks - and you will survive everything. Well, yes, you can’t wave an ax on an empty stomach, and you can’t run away or fight off cannibals. But starvation does not threaten you. Perhaps the fresh sea air is so useful that it can feed, and most importantly, drink the newly-minted Robinson Crusoe. After all, water is not needed here at all. It would seem that the main concern of the islander is to arrange supplies of fresh water, otherwise hello, dehydration! But no, all this is nonsense, we have enough rabbits with berries.

Don't be afraid to die.

Should you stumble, get burned or take second place in a duel with a savage, life does not end there. Why - history is silent. But you can get out of the cave and run wherever your eyes look.

And that's all you need to know for now. What rules must be followed in order to survive in The Forest? If you have something to add leave your comments below.
