How to get Brakkus Rex armor in Divinity: Original Sin 2?
While playing Withermoore's Soul Jar, you probably noticed that there are items in the game with the name of the character from the previous game - Braccus Rex. While there is no set mechanic in the game (like the Diablo series, for example), you can find pieces of equipment that change their effects when a character is equipped with certain items. Such is the case with the Braccus Rex set. There are 5 items you can collect (although there are more, but more on that later): Tyrant's Stride, Heart of the Tyrant, Corrupted Tyrant's Helm, The Hands of the Tyrant, and Tracks of the Tyrant.
Tyrant's suffering
This item can be found in the Ancient Pass - this place is visited during the Withermoore's Soul Jar quest. In the western part of the room, you can find one of the two statues (represented in the picture above). Select the character with the highest Wits attribute and order him to interact with the statue. Then you must use all dialogue lines. After that, you will be able to pick up the item from the ground.
Heart of a tyrant
The second item can be found in the Madman's Enclave right after the second encounter with Trompdoy. The item is in the treasury - there you will find soul jars, chests and heaps of gold.
Corrupted Tyrant's Helm
Braccus Rex's can be found in Decrepit Ruins - a small location that can be accessed near the place where you saved Gareth (Most Dangerous When Cornered quest). When you enter the room you just need to cast Bless on the lever on the left, use it and enter another room. There you will need to interact with the Shrine of Braccus Rex (requires a Source Point), after which you will be able to pick up the item from the ground.
The hands of a tyrant
The gloves are in Gargoyle's Maze tower. The video above contains a detailed walkthrough of this place. Behind the force field you will find two sarcophagi - when interacting with the one on the right, poison will begin to flow out of it. From the same sarcophagus, you can take the "Hands of a Tyrant".
Traces of a tyrant
The last, fifth item from this set is located in the tower on the beach in Fort Joy. The tower can be reached using the Teleport ability or one of those that allow you to jump / teleport - Phoenix Dive, Cloak & Dagger, Tactical Retreat or Spread Your Wings. When you reach the tower, you just need to search Lorenzo's corpse and collect the item. You can watch the whole process in the video above.
Use of armor and some interesting facts
When you equip any of the items, you may notice that it is enchanted - it places a curse on the person wearing it, slowing their movement speed, inflicting a warm status, etc. However, there is an easy way to break this curse - you just need to put on all 5 items that you recently purchased. Together, they only give bonus effects, and curses disappear - until you remove at least one of the items.
Here are some interesting facts about Braccus Rex items:
- Spear of Braccus Rex, Ring of Braccus Rex and The Illuminator are his artifacts, but they are not included in the set - they are not needed to remove the effects of the curse.
- Brakkus helmet. Corrupted Tyrant's Helm grants an additional ability, Purge (formerly known as Source Vampirism). The helmet only has 3 charges, and when you run out of them all, an enemy, Krylr the Kettlegrinder, will "jump" out of it. When you defeat an enemy, you will be able to pick up a "purified" version of the helmet called Tyrant's Helm. He is still cursed (imposes Warm), but he has much better stats.
This is everything you need to know about how to get the Brakkus Rex armor in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
