It's quite simple, there are several ways to destroy an item, throw it into any body of water, it will cause the item to disappear or use a certain console command to remove all items that have fallen out of the vent, press F5 to open the game console window. Players can now type "imacheater" into this window and then type "removedrops" to immediately destroy any dropped items.
