Who do you really want to have on your team? There are 24 different characters to play with, so finding the very best Genshin Impact characters will take some time.
So, we've put together a guide of ten of the greatest playable characters and the reasons why they should be in your party.
Some of the characters are excellent damage dealers, others are excellent healers, versatile supports, or very useful in research. Remember that they all have different play styles and can be upgraded with Genshin Impact Artifacts to benefit from their abilities and skills. You should also take a look at their constellations when unlocking, as many of them will get much more range and attack power as they level up.
But whatever their style, weapon, or elemental type, any of these top ten Genshin Impact characters are worth investing in experience and ascension materials - or maybe you'll get lucky and get them as a result of the Wish. So, if you are just getting started in this open world game, here are the best Genshin Impact characters for beginners.
Venti
Venti, who uses an anemo and a bow, undoubtedly has the best elemental powers. His elemental skill makes it easy to control enemies by launching himself or them into the air. However, the crown is taken by his Elemental Burst; using it, Venti can draw all enemies into a whirlwind that stuns and deals heavy damage to them. At the same time, Elemental Burst will absorb the elemental powers of other characters, which will deal even more damage to captured enemies. This alone can put most of the battles in your favor and make Venti the perfect team character.
Diluc
Diluk is much more than just the richest man in Mondstadt; he is also the best damage dealer in the game. Charging his normal attack will result in a series of quick strikes that will completely overwhelm most enemies. On top of that, Diluc's Pyro Elemental Skill can easily destroy wooden shields. And we haven't even started his Elemental Burst yet, which covers a huge area on fire. Not only does it look cool; it also sets his sword on fire for a short duration, dealing additional Pyro damage with each new attack. Dilyuk certainly deserves extra points for style (although not that he needs it).
Qiqi
Qiqi is a great damage dealer and an even better healer. What else could you want? Qiqi's elemental skill not only deals damage to enemies with Cryo, but also heals all party members on each hit. The amount of health regeneration scales with Qiqi's attack power, allowing the player to use it for both damage and healing. Qiqi also heals herself in combat, making her very durable. Lastly, her Elemental Burst deals massive cryo damage with great AoE.
Xiangling
Xiangling is not only an excellent cook, but stands out for being very easy to handle and useful in almost any situation. As a DPS character, Xiangling has a fast, high damage normal attack. She is also a great Pyro dealer with a very decent AoE. While it's best to think about where you'll cast it, her elemental skill will automatically find enemies in range to set it on fire, making it easier to use in combat. Finally, Xiangling's Elemental Burst will create a ring of fire around her. It lasts 10 seconds and stays with Xiangling when she moves. If you are surrounded by enemies, he is almost overwhelmed.
Fischl
Prinzessin Fischl is the ultimate electro master in Genshin Impact. She does a lot of damage with her charged bow and her elemental skill. The latter summons an Electro-Night Raven (extra style points, remember) that damages all nearby enemies and will continue to do so after switching to another character. However, her biggest asset is her elemental blast, which she can use at the right moment to better position herself on the battlefield. At the same time, avoiding all incoming attacks and causing damage to anyone who stands in her way. The only downside is that it can be difficult to steer Fischl in the right direction.
Mona
Hydro-character Mona has the best movement and evasion abilities in the game. If you want to set up elemental reactions with water, Mona is the best Genshin Impact character. She can cover large areas in water using her elemental skill and explosion. However, Mona isn't just good for combat; she can dash across water, which is incredibly handy for exploration (draining stamina will still cause her to drown, so be careful!). Another great non-combat asset is her Astrology Principle skill, which has a 25% chance to refund some crafting materials. Even if you don't want her to fight, she will always be a useful character.
Barbara
While the Barbara idol deals decent attack damage, you really need this Hydro character as a healer and elemental support. Her healing abilities depend on her health. In addition to healing party members with her elemental skill, Barbara can use it to cover enemies with water, making her extremely useful if you want to customize elemental reactions. Finally, Barbara's Elemental Burst will restore a large amount of life to all party members and therefore can be a real life saver.
Keqing
Keqing is a fast electric strike merchant who can easily move around the battlefield and switch between melee and ranged attacks. She also deals massive AoE damage with her Elemental Burst. Using his abilities, Keqing can quickly jump, hit the victim and leave before they themselves get hit. Outside of battle, Keqing's speed and elemental skills make her an excellent explorer character. Using the latter, Keqing can teleport to places otherwise difficult to reach.
Jean
Jean doesn't excel at one thing, but she has a great combination of decent attack damage, crowd control abilities, and above-average healing. Her passive talent, Wind Companion, is one of her main strengths; it grants a 50% chance to heal party members for 15% of Jin's attack power when hit with a normal attack. Her Elemental Burst healing ability also scales according to her attack power, allowing for excellent HP regen when properly built. Additionally, Jin can quickly gather all of the weaker enemies by using his Elemental Skill to draw them towards him.
Traveler
If the Traveler remains the same as we find him (or her) at the beginning of the game, the Traveler may not make the list. However, the Traveler has a big advantage over everyone else; he can change his element. Starting with Anemo, Traveler can switch to Geo later (and back as often as desired). Probably more items will be available for Traveler in the future. This will always give you the opportunity to make the Traveler perfect for your team.
