March 10, 2017 saw the release of the coveted slasher action game Nier: Automata. In the video game tradition of this universe, it is considered a continuation of one of the endings of the unique Nier fourth ending.

The title Automata says that this time the whole setting will be devoted to mechanisms. Big installations, killer cyborgs, machine-made machines, a global mech dictatorship. The man behind all this is not even close. It simply isn't here. Well, the main protagonists, only on the outside they are made in the form of people, but in fact they are considered androyd replicants of their souls sleeping for thousands of years. Very difficult to start. We will discuss this in the linear part. In general, the mascot of “a white-haired woman with a blindfold, a heavy katana in her hands and visible panties” was very popular on the Internet in the near future. Yes, it is taken specifically from this video game. This topic has even been great played by the developers themselves from Platinum Games. They arranged an event for the most fascinating and funny art, sketch or other media content on the topic of mascot. Thousands of samples were sent. Perhaps the creators of the best projects received a collector's print edition of Nier: Automata as a gift. But back to the video game itself.

This is specifically in the old version of the Japanese slasher. Such a large number were played at the sunset of the PS2 and the dawn of the PS3. A very large number of dynamics, action, effects, explosions and nothing more. No distant battle for you. Only blades, spears, knives, of course, there is an assistant bot with a mini machine gun. Virtually no magical spell attacks for you, however, there is a large amount of magic in the context of the world. Sexy main protagonist with beautiful and polished movements, gestures, style. Most of the male gamers try to look under her short skirt, and she pushes the camera away in such fragments. A classic, perhaps that's why it became a local meme. But still, this is the current video game. With beautiful strong graphics and an open world, which is very surprising for the genre. And with a very deep gaming history.

To be honest, it's quite hard to start outlining the plot of this video game and the series in general. Not because he is stupid or confused, but yes, he is very confused. It's just that the plot of the unique Nier is not considered complete. It likewise does not end the epic universe that began in the first Drakengard in 2003. That, in turn, contains a large number of parts and the rest of the offshoot video games in its own world. Well, not just video games. There are visual stories, books, manga and even a theatrical production that has a good success with the Japanese audience. I think, based on this, it is clear how complex and diverse the Drakengard universe is, we will call it that. If you are interested in the theory of this world, then on YouTube, for example, there are hour-long and more videos, including Russian-language ones with an alternate retelling of events. And in order to be aware of all the references, while understanding the essence of the Automata novel to the end, I advise you to find time to watch one of those. Personally, I liked it. It is really curious, even in the conditions of the usual retelling of the announcer over the episodes.

If in total, the topic is far from fur and everything starts from the year 856 of our era in the first part of Drakengard, when the world became different. By our time, the world of magic with demons and dragons has come into contact with the current industrial Japan. The result was the “snow-white chlorination syndrome”, which endured a huge part of the people. The infected either died or became part of the "legion" on the side of black magic. The surviving people learned to use the tools of the world of magic to separate the soul from the body to carry out gestaltization. Over time, for the gestalt souls, they learned to make perfect droid replicants. It's like the real body of an ordinary mortal replicant, but cybernetic in its own base. They fought Red Eye and his legion across two worlds. But speaking in full, the population of the earth is unlikely to return to an ordinary existence.

It was a very thoroughly simplified retelling of the prehistory of the universe. In the first Nier, the chronicle starts already from the year 3200, using a thousand plus years of the events subsequently outlined above. It has a plot about a brother and sister, Nira and Jena. Yena's Gestalt has been in cryo-sleep for a thousand years. And her brother's replicant, in a world that has changed beyond recognition, is trying to find a cure for her disease. Along the way, he tries to solve the problem of the resurrection of the population of the earth.

Actions in Nier: Automata are still performed using 8000 years later of the fourth ending of the unique Nier, in which the population of the earth was certainly not revived. How it happened that the Earth was captured by robots is hard to say exactly. To do this, you need to read a book written later by the fifth part of Drakengard or watch a theatrical production. Technical giants are faster than the 3rd side of the conflict, which came from other galaxies not for the legion and the Reddish Eye. Fighting them will be one hundred percent cybernetic replicants. Most likely Gestalt replicants from the original Nier. Result: You see everything yourself. The above is not even 10% of the story. It still doesn’t look like oil, if you learn it. Does it need to be taught at all? For a regular video game in Nier: Automata, no. For awareness understandings and circumstances - yes. He is a hit for almost everyone. Automata, apart from the first part and other video games, similarly gives out a good storyline served by spectacular cut scenes.

The visual part in this slasher is completely at the level of NextGen. Well, in Japanese representatives of the genre, this is a rare occurrence. Beautiful techno anime style, gloomy matte tones in the palette. Due to good optimization, the PS4 is given a constant 60 fps. A beautiful woman in the quality of the protagonist. In certain gameplay situations, the camera is set to a far side view like in a 2D platformer. But quickly and definitely it's not 2D. You will be ready. You are here to break your fingers seriously in indescribably cool battles with robots of all sizes. There is a leveling of the hero's abilities and weapons, but it is not considered the main factor for triumph. Under the weapon a certain number of cells in which it is configured and improved. This is in the fundamental blades, of which there are a large number of types. The gamer will work in the fundamental close assault, and shooting opponents with a machine gun, lie down on his little flying assistant bot. The video game map assumes a free world available for free exploration. Plotally, it is divided into territories with chefs at the end of a large quest. The bosses are diverse and well-written.

If music from a video game is put into one and a half hour videos on YouTube and generally distributed separately, then it is very successful. Here, goosebumps are provided more than once. Do you love Japanese action movies? Love the dark fur atmosphere? Do you like crazy gameplay with great effects? In this case, the video game Nier: Automata is indispensable for review. Connoisseurs of the universe started in Drakengard also need this, but in Russian society there are hardly a very large number of those. In full a high quality project worthy of interest.
