The video game is called Pixel Privateers and has elements of two works. But this is not a sandbox in a procedurally generated world. Real action is faster here, RPG platformer in 2D mode with a side view in the universal setting. Fascinating texture. Here gamers expect everything together. And conducting research is quite a huge universe consisting of a large number of planets. And management of a warlike team of 4 space pirates with systematic shooting of opponents, extraction of resources, pumping abilities and individualization of each member. In the fundamentals, it's naturally ruby ​​in the manner of a two-dimensional action, RPG, but flavored with various quest conversations with NPCs. Often, achieving a goal can be difficult for beginners. First, you need to take a good weapon and prepare your own heroes. The planets have a different setting, image, environment, and their own special features.

Result: if you associate with “Terraria”, then here is the most complete and accurate plot. But all the same, you perceive all this as irony and parody, and Pixel Privateers itself is willingly called an indie video game.

Don't let the title intimidate impressionable players, pixel characters are just the main characters here. Space pirates are made up of simple pixels and differ from each other only due to the pronounced distinctive features of the race, for example. Different ammunition and armor similarly add contrast to their appearance. The territories on the planets are not pixelated in any way. Colorful and unique cards, the situation in which is radically different. One, for example, is exactly like the Earth in winter, somewhere in Maine. Another, a little more exotic, with incomprehensible devices, plants and monsters. But any is full of pitfalls, valuable resources and opponents who want to deal with the characters. Opponents can also be called pixelated. The video game has a soft, cartoonish palette that, again, makes the video game indie feel like a game.

Result: the picture fits perfectly into the plot and idea of ​​the video game. The difference in the rendering of pixel characters and territory somehow even looks out of place. The video game process of Pixel Privateers is typical for action, RPG. Pumping working heroes, there are four of them, clearing maps, collecting loot, fighting with oncoming enemies, searching for the right objects. All this is. Due to the abundance of flora and fauna on various planets, as well as gameplay differences, filling a stage and going through a linear campaign is not boring at all. While flying on the universal ship, the gamer is located in the main interface of preparation and customization in the form of a huge blue panel. Here you can edit the characteristics of team members, use experience points for pumping, take weapons from the market. It's better to sit longer before landing on another planet and think about the priority development of the characters.

The result: a tolerable, addictive and distinct video game experience. The mechanics are of course controversial, the whole battle in the fundamental is to hover the mouse, all the cartridges are endless. But with the problem of keeping the gamer entertained for a long time, Pixel Privateers can handle it admirably.

The video game has a surprisingly high quality and unforgettable music track. It unsurpassedly emphasizes the atmosphere and gives dynamics to action moments. Naturally, there is no Russian voice acting, as well as localization in general. But don't get used to it. A good symbiosis of the ideas of 2 studios, famous for their own extraordinary solutions in the production of video games. The theme of space travel and the abundance of places that will need to be visited are bound to appeal to adherents of action, RPG.
