In this section, you will learn basic information about cars in Forza Horizon 4. We will tell you what to look for when choosing a vehicle.

We will recommend the best car to start with, how to buy cars and where to look for unique models. Here you will find information about the different classes and types of vehicles in Forza Horizon 4.

Basic information

Forza Horizon 4 contains over 450 vehicles. When choosing a car, you should be guided mainly by your taste and choose the one that you like or that you would like to test on the track. However, there are a few basic rules that apply to all cars without exception.

Each car has several statistics (in the form of numerical values), which can be increased to a certain extent by installing improved tuning parts. These statistics are as follows:

  • Speed
  • Controllability
  • Acceleration
  • Start
  • Braking

In Forza Horizon 4, racing takes place on fairly short and twisty tracks, so good handling, acceleration and a quick start will be more useful than top speed. This will make it easier for you to squeeze through the peloton of rivals, because each of them starts in the middle or at the end of the circle.

All-wheel drive (AWD) cars are easiest to drive, fastest rear-wheel drive (RWD) cars like American muscle cars are the hardest. Depending on the power and speed, cars are divided into classes D, C, B, A, S1 and S2.

The game also divides them according to the value of the loot in the MMO game, that is, according to the colors: green, blue, purple and yellow, into ordinary, rare, epic and legendary cars.

The exception is cars with a colored frame, the so-called Forza Edition. They cannot be bought in the main salon, only in the Forzathon store or played as a prize. Each of them has an additional bonus, such as doubling skill points.

For drag racing, choose cars with high speed, start and acceleration. When drifting, remember about rear-wheel drive cars - it will be much easier for you to turn sideways.

With the exception of races for which you need an SUV, there are usually no restrictions on the class of vehicle you use. If you upgrade your favorite Class C or B car to S1, you will be able to continue racing it because the computer will pick up similar level opponents.

Your first car

Once you've completed the first Introductory Drives for which cars are pre-assigned, you'll be able to choose your first car. These will be: Ford Focus RS, Audi TTS Coupe and Dodge Charger R/T. The best choice would be one of the German cars: Ford or Audi. Dodge is recommended for those who like a little more challenge or love American muscle cars.

Your second car

The next choice would be a rally car for your first attempt at the dirt series. Here are the possible cars to choose from: Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Lancia 037 Stradale. The best choice for beginners would be the Subaru Impreza, and if someone is looking for a challenge, the Lancia Stradale.

Your third car

The beginning of the first series of cross-country is associated with the third car as a gift: an SUV. You can choose between: Range Rover Sport SVR, Volkswagen Class 5/1600 Baja Bug and RAM 2500 Power Wagon. The best choice to start with is definitely the Range Rover Sport SVR.
