How to get a talking pet sword in Dead Cells may look like a roguelike, but there are still some secrets that are not randomly generated in its biomes.

Now that the Fatal Falls DLC has been released all over the place, players are looking for secrets in every corner of the two main locations. And one secret is pretty damn cool - a skillful sword that you can summon flies towards enemies and sets them up for critical hits. Better yet? The sword speaks!

To access the blueprint, you will need to find a hidden island in the exclusive biomes of Fatal Falls. Most players probably already have it at this point, but the spider rune is needed to navigate the traps of the hidden island. You will need it before trying to find Singing Sword Friend. You will also need to kill the mini-boss enemy, so heal before entering the Serenade vault. Find out how to find it in the quick start guide below.

How to get a talking pet sword in Dead Cells: Fatal Falls DLC

To find Serenade, a flying (and talking) swordsman friend, you'll need to free him in the Fractured Shrines biome. This biome can be reached by elevator immediately after defeating any of the first encounters with the boss. The Fractured Shrines is the first biome exclusive to the Fatal Falls DLC.

Once you get to the Shattered Shrines, you need to find a portal where it is raining. The rain reveals a secret - if you look closely, you can see invisible platforms in the rain. See where the rain bounces off the invisible surfaces above.

Follow the invisible surfaces until you reach a room guarded by the Stone Warden mini-boss - you'll also need Spider Rune to access this island. After passing through the trap and defeating the Stone Guard, you will gain access to a unique treasure vault.

The Vault contains the Serenade, a new skill plan that is inserted into your slots. To unlock it permanently, you need to deliver the blueprint. The skill summons a flying talking sword that marks enemies for a critical strike. This is a weird little weapon that cannot be unlocked any other way. You owe it to yourself to grab this thing.
