Heist a military base may seem daunting at first, but with a little trick, you can easily get yourself explosives with little or no tools.

Introduction

Having trouble getting through a dozen soldiers to loot explosives? Then this guide is for you! I will show you how easy it is to rob a military base without weapons and without gunshots from either side, and still get away with a few sets of soldier gear and of course all the explosives you need.

What you need

The only item you need for this simple tactic is a pair of handcuffs. You will be using them on the soldier, so you can just steal the pair back anyway.

Robbery of the base

So to deal with this you need to get a boat, the driving time without a license is only 30 seconds, so it doesn't matter if you steal it. You can find boats on the river that runs through the city:

After you have purchased the boat, you need to get to a specific location behind the military base. Note that you only get a felony after stepping on a military base, and the AI ​​takes a few seconds to respond that a felony was committed nearby. This tactic exploits both of these facts. You should leave it somewhere here:

As noted above, there is a guard around the corner. He is the only guard in the immediate area and he will be the one you handcuffed. So, you need to quickly jump to the base, run up to him before he notices you, and handcuff him. This gives you a few minutes to grab the explosives, loot it, and get out of there. No other guard is close enough to react to the crime, so you are safe with him.

Looting a guard and picking up explosives only takes about 30 seconds, so if you want you can grab his items and wait for them to respawn to get 2 sets of combat armor and weapons. (Haven't checked if you have enough time to wait for the third regen before it escapes the cuffs, so maybe don't tempt fate)

Note: If you time it right, there is no reason why you can't just unfasten and paraphrase a soldier using his supply of cuffs to update his timer, allowing you to theoretically stay as long as you want, taking all the explosives and combat gear. which you may need when they are recovering. (I tried this and got 4 loot regen then quit, the only problem I could see to prevent you from staying there indefinitely is the boat disappearing)

Once you've got what you want, that's all, jump onto your boat and get out of there. I would advise you to park it next to a small apartment and run in to store your belongings, as multiple looting means that you are now very KOS. (Also keep in mind that if you have too many guards, you now have RPGs to blow them up next week).

Having a second player can help distract the cops upon arrival on the mainland, as quite often I came across an apartment and could barely put explosives in the chest until the Swiss cheese ran through the door.

UPDATE: I checked, the boat disappears after a few minutes, I found that thanks to the newly acquired Firepower, I was able to blow up the guards and make my way in a stolen armored jeep, but it's a bit tricky to do. (Also learned the tricky way to not use an RPG in a vehicle) ... A workaround is to just jump into the Boat every few minutes to keep it from disappearing.

UPDATE ON UPDATE: If you are stockpiling explosives and plan to be there for a while, you can just wait for the timer to find your way out. As long as you only steal the explosives and not the security uniform, you won't get any new crimes, so once they are all solved, you can just walk out the front door without resistance as your crime has expired.

NOTE ON VERSION 0.80

Since version 0.80, the explosives are locked in the safe, which gives the crime of robbery upon theft. This doesn't change that strategy much, except for the fact that in order to get out unnecessarily, you no longer have to steal explosives until the crime stops.

However, the 0.80 upgrade also has the advantage. Due to his position as a security guard, there are no witnesses to his handcuffs / robberies. This means that now you can freely rob him without consequences, since you will not receive a crime for this.

In fact, the 2 crimes have now changed. You will get a crime for stealing explosives, but you will not get a crime for robbing a soldier.
