Step-by-step actions:
First, you need to head to the Runoff Caverns. It can be found south of Rorikstead and should have been added to the map with the Anniversary Edition. You will have to make your way through the dungeon until you reach a massive dwarven staircase that leads to a doorway that leads to the Vardncknd Gallery. Upon entering the new area, you will notice a mage named Elberon who has been struck by lightning in the camp. ⇒ This will trigger the start of the Dwarven Crown Quest. Search his body and read the book on the next table to learn about the Dwarven Crown and guises.
In search of winter, spring and autumn look
During the quest, you will travel to three separate areas in the Vardncknd Gallery: Bells of Autumn, Symphony of Spring, and Chimes of Winter. The areas match the faces and are hidden inside. There won't be a quest marker to help you find them, so you'll have to do some investigation.
- Autumn bells... The Bells of Autumn is a large open area full of glowing wheat and several wandering Dwarven Centurions and Dwarven Orbs. Walk across the bridge to the open door along the left wall. Follow the path and watch out for the spinning razor-blade trap and you will enter a square room containing the Autumn Dwarf Face.
- Spring Symphony. Gnomish Spring Form is difficult to find, as the terrain is a maze. You will need to kill the Spriggan Blossom Matron and take the key on her body to open the door behind which Lik is. Head down to the bottom of the area until you come across an area full of poisonous gas. Be sure to grab the Dwarf Fly Drone to protect yourself from the poison. The door is at the end of the hallway and leads back to the entrance to the Symphony Hall.
- Winter chimes. Follow the trail until you come across two ice ghosts. There will be a pipe on the right wall leading up to a metal gate. Head through the gate and navigate the large flooded room as you enter the smaller square room with an active Frosted Dwarven Centurion. The face is in the center of the room, behind a locked gate. The unlock switch is at the back of the room. You can grab Lik without defeating the frozen gnomish centurion.
You can craft three new items using the Dwarven Crown and all three skins. Travel to any forge to create the Gnomish Crown of Winter, Summer, or Spring. You can even turn them off whenever you want.
