What difficulty to choose in Mass Effect Legendary Edition
There were five difficulty options available in the original version of the game, and this also applies to the new (seemingly) version. Here are all the difficulty options available to you, with Casual being the easiest and Insanity being the hardest:

- Plain
- Veteran
- hardcore
- Madness
The first four options are easy to understand and deal with as they are simple difficulty spikes where enemies have more life, deal more damage, and so on. The "Madness" mode becomes interesting, in which bosses and mini-bosses have immunity, and its level depends on your level and strength. Even for an experienced player, the Madness difficulty is not for the faint of heart and will require significant knowledge of the game to complete. If you manage to complete all three Mass Effect Legendary Edition games with Insanity difficulty enabled and keep it on, you will be able to earn three different achievements:
- Madness I
- Madness II
- Madness III
For some, the compensation may be enough, as you will be one step closer to a platinum trophy or 100% achievement points /. For others, the insane difficulty of this mode may not be worth the reward.
