One of Destiny 1's most controversial weapons has made its way into Destiny 2 thanks to the new Thorn quest for Season of the Drifter. As long as they own the Annual Pass, Destiny 2 players are free to start and complete the Thorn quest at their leisure, but there is some confusion as to how to start. To start the Thorn quest, players want to travel to an area of salt mines in the European Dead Zone. This is the area behind the church in the Trostland EDZ landing zone and is marked on the map to avoid confusion. Destiny 2 players must navigate through the Salt Mines until they reach the transmat elevator. The same item was used at the beginning of the campaign during the Red War, just walk up to it and hold the interact button to activate the teleporter. Once at the top of the area, go up the hill a little further and through the side cave next to the path that is blocked. A small camp should pass through the cave - go to the extinguished fire and hold the interaction button to sift through the ashes. Now with the Molten Chunk of Metal walkthrough quest in hand, players can begin the process of restoring Thorn and returning it to its former glory. Be prepared, though, because the Thorn quest is very difficult and requires you to complete many different tasks. Based on where players find Thorn, it appears that someone tried to burn down the Exotic Hand Cannon, but was unsuccessful. There's a lot of lore hidden behind Thorn and the other Weapons of Sorrow, so fans of the Destiny story should pay attention to the various lore tab entries that appear along the quest. As for whether Thorn is as strong in Destiny 2 as he was in Destiny 1 (for a while), we'll have to wait and see. As of this writing, most Destiny 2 players are still working on the quest.
