I wonder when Genshin Impact 2.0 will be released? Genshin Impact updates come out regularly - once every six weeks or so - and usually bring a couple of new characters with them.

Also all sorts of events and activities to explore with your favorite team. The latest update - 1.6 known as Midsummer Island Adventure - has introduced us to a new archipelago to explore and collect Genshin Impact Echoing Conches to unlock the Genshin Impact skin. Naturally, we expected the upcoming patch to introduce the 1.7 update - but according to some rumors, the next update will be Genshin Impact 2.0.

So why such a jump in versions? According to rumors, the next update will be big - perhaps the first new region, Inazuma, will be added to the game. If this is indeed the case, it will introduce us to all sorts of new NPCs and advance the story significantly, potentially being the biggest update to date. Here's everything we know about Genshin Impact 2.0.

Genshin Impact 2.0 special program release date

According to Twitter user Sukuna, Genshin Impact 2.0 will be streaming live on July 9 at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET / 1 PM PT on Twitch. Unlike previous streams, the special will air simultaneously in all regions and will be available on YouTube at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm BST. Keep an eye out for Genshin Impact codes as Mihoyo usually releases them during the broadcast.

Genshin Impact 2.0 release date

We expect an official release date to be announced during the 2.0 Special Program, but if the update goes on as usual, we expect the Genshin Impact 2.0 release date to be July 21st.

Genshin Impact 2.0 new features

The most anticipated feature of 2.0 is the introduction of Inazuma. According to Twitter user Genshin Report, we will be visiting three Inazuma islands in 2.0, with the other three islands to be introduced later this year. Genshin Impact fan server, Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, has created a Genshin Impact 2.0 map based on the information collected, with landmarks marked.

We also expect Genshin Impact horticulture to be implemented as part of the Genshin Impact serenitea pot housing system, as well as new Genshin Impact woods for furniture construction. Changes to the Spiral Abyss are also expected in version 2.0 - the full changelog is available on Twitter, courtesy of Sukuna and abc64real.

Genshin Impact 2.0 Events

In version 2.0, there will no doubt be new events, as well as many Inazuma-related quests, including a reputation system for the region. Twitter account Genshin_Intel announced the inclusion of a four-week event called "Thunderfall" in which players complete tasks for a currency that can be exchanged for free Beidou. A return of the Genshin Impact Theater Mechanicus event is also possible.

Genshin Impact 2.0 new characters

There are a few new Genshin Impact characters in development that fans have been getting data on, but we expect many of them to appear as NPCs first. However, we do have some details on who might appear in the next Genshin Impact banner - the leaked information indicates that Ayaka, Sayu, and Yoimiya will become available over the next few weeks. Inazuma is connected to the Electro element, so we also expect that when we get there, we will have access to the Electro Traveler skills.

This is all we know about Genshin Impact 2.0, but we will add new information as soon as it becomes available. If you're still hoping to get Kazuha, we've prepared the best Kazuha build to help you get there.
