How to make a player an ally in Age of Empires 2?
1. If you are playing a standard game, you can see three headings "Name", "Civilization", "Player" and "Team". Find your team number, if it is 1 then change your opponent's number to 1 and vice versa.
2. When you play a game, your opponent asks you to change your diplomatic position to an alliance with him. Then just click "Diplomacy" and change your diplomatic position to "ally".
