The Midnight Carp is a rare species of fish in Stardew Valley that players can use to make Seafoam Pudding. Here's how to find this elusive trick.

Stardew Valley may be a life simulation game about farming in a rural town, but there's more to do than plant seeds. Players can mine for resources, explore dungeons, and also use fishing rods to fish from the waters they come across. While some types of fish are relatively common, others are a little more difficult to find. One such fish is the midnight carp.

Where to Find Midnight Carp in Stardew Valley

Players who start a new save in Stardew Valley will not be able to immediately get the Midnight Carp. This special fish is only available during the game's fall and winter seasons, and each new file starts on the first day of spring. Unlike other life simulation games, the seasons in Stardew Valley do not change in real time. Each one only lasts 28 in-game days, so players need to wait 56 days to progress to The Fall for the carp to spawn. Those who are currently in the process of creating a save file can start searching right away! As the name suggests, it has a very short spawn window, only from 10pm to 2am.

There are three locations on the Stardew Valley map where the midnight carp lives. Follow the river in Pelican City north to reach The Mountain, the first area to fish in. In the next location, head southwest from Pelican Town to enter Cindersap Forest. This area is a bit different from the others because it has two separate bodies of water, a river and a pond, where you can fish. The midnight carp only lives in the pond on the east side of the area, so head there to find it. Finally, you can also go fishing on Ginger Island. Fish in a pond or river to meet him, subject to temporary conditions.
