How to Get Wood Core in Walheim is a game where you have to explore a huge fantasy world steeped in Norse mythology and Viking culture.

Your adventure will begin in the heart of Valheim, a rather peaceful place. But beware, because the further you advance, the more dangerous the world around you will become. Fortunately, along the way, not only dangers await you - you will also more often find valuable materials that will be very useful for creating deadly weapons and strong armor. Build fortresses and outposts around the world! And over time, build an indestructible drakkar and set off to conquer the endless oceans in search of foreign lands... But try not to swim too far, and if you swim, then our next game guide will help you.

How to get wood core in Valheim?

Walheim is not an easy game and players will have to constantly look for better resources to produce stronger items, weapons, tools and housing. Resources are tiered, and after players get comfortable with the game and gather wood from the meadows, they will need to start harvesting the second tier, called base wood. This will unlock many new recipes that can be crafted at the upgraded workbench.

Unfortunately, finding the heartwood means exploring the map, which is a daunting prospect. Players will need to find a biome called the Black Forest, which is a dangerous place to walk. The only way to find the biome is to search for it, although it usually spawns to the northeast of the original spawn. A message will appear on the screen stating that the players have entered the region. Before trying to get too far inside, it's a good idea to summon and kill the first boss of Valheim, Eiktir. Players who attempt this before achieving this feat will receive a visit from Hugen, a helpful raven, to inform them that they should kill the boss before moving on.

While it's not necessary to kill Eiktir before heading to the Black Forest, it's a good indicator of how strong players need to be to feel comfortable there. The area is filled with gray dwarves, who are much more dangerous than the gray dwarves that live in the grasslands. If players have spent a lot of time in Walheim but haven't yet achieved this feat, they can try to sneak into the Black Forest unnoticed.

Pine trees will grow in the Black Forest, and by cutting them down, players can collect the core of the wood. As soon as players get close to a tree, a message will appear on the screen stating what kind of tree it is. While a normal stone ax will cut down a pine tree, it is recommended to use a flint ax to avoid unnecessary delays. The last thing players want is to give the Gray Dwarves time to find them and attack. When the tree is cut down, it will turn into a log that needs to be chopped for firewood. This is best done during the day, as at night the Black Forest becomes even more dangerous.

If players are struggling to find the Black Forest in their own game world, they may have to make a raft and cross rivers and lakes to find it. Since all players have randomly generated seeds that determine the structure of their world, it may take a little research to track down the core of the forest and the Black Forest.
