This guide will tell you step by step The Binding of Isaac: Repentance how to play in co-op mode to get an answer to the question - read on.

My friends and I loved hanging out in my basement when we were kids. It was a nice basement with a big TV and an air hockey table. Of course, if my basement was teeming with terrible abomination, it would probably be the hardest to get everyone down there, but I'm sure I can persuade myself at least 1-3 corpses, and you can too! Here's how to play co-op in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

Previous versions of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth were co-op ... sort of. In the old version, the local player could drop in as a floating child, but all he could do was shoot and move. They could not lift objects or interact with the world at all. With the addition of Repentance, this has been fixed and players in co-op can now appear as a full-fledged character, able to advance their improvements regardless of the host.

How to Play Co-op in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance

It's easy to play co-op in Repentance. All you have to do is start the normal game, and when you appear in the Basement, simply ask the second player to press Start on their controller. They will immediately appear as suitable characters and can interact with the world in the same way as the lead player.

There are a few tricks to be aware of. First, the co-op is technically local, but can be bypassed with Steam Remote Play Together. Secondly, each player must have his own contribution; one controller or keyboard per person, no sharing. Finally, progress and unlockable features will only be saved to the lead player's save file, so whoever wants to unlock something must be the master of the game.

Repentance is currently only available on PC via Steam, which means that console players can't use a suitable co-op just yet. However, the developers have promised that they are working on a console version and will release it as soon as possible.

And that's all there is to know about how to play co-op in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.
