The Spiny Dragon is a beautiful and rewarding dinosaur to tame in Ark Survival Evolved. Here's what you need to know about it.
The Spiny Dragon is one of the best dinosaurs you can tame in the Arc. Creatures can do whatever gamers want on any map. Slippery sand creatures are not easy to catch, however, especially for players on a new server.
Preparing for taming
Ark players must use either a long-necked neck or a crossbow to tame the animal. While upgraded long necks and crossbows are preferred, players can use a primitive crossbow to catch the Thorn Dragon. Primitive crossbows are easy to build and require only a few materials to craft. Before taming the creature, gamers must have some drugs to ensure their survival. On Scorched Earth, Thorny Dragons can be found near bases or in any area with sand. They can also be seen at the foot of rock formations on Scorched Earth.
Conquering the Thorn Dragon
Thorny Dragons' main defense mechanism is to shoot spikes from the tail. Once the creature is spotted, players should lean against a rock before engaging in combat. Once up to the top, Thorny Dragon will not be able to use its close range attack and it will be much easier for players to tame the animal. The animal will continue to shoot spikes, and players need to dodge them when necessary. As the Thorny Dragon approaches, it will be pinned to the surface the players are standing on. Low-tier thorny dragons don't have much health, so players should be careful when shooting more than a few tranquilizer darts at the animal.
Prime Meat and Taming
On Scorched Earth, players must always feed their animals the same amount of regular meat. After a short waiting period, the creature will be tamed. Then gamers must place the Dragon in the cryosphere and make a saddle for it. Thorny Dragons are incredibly adept at gathering materials, which is one of the most important aspects of Ark gameplay. Wood and stone shrink by 50% when carried by the Dragon. The harvesting dinosaur also has an 80% reduction in fiber and straw weight, which is an incredible benefit. When using an animal as a mount, gamers can carry at least twice the amount of materials. Likewise, the dinosaur will collect more wood than most mounts when it knocks down trees. Players must tame at least a couple of Dragons. One of the dragons can be upgraded to an offensive mount, and the other can be used to gather materials. It's also a good idea to have multiple dragons when collecting a lot of materials. Thorny Dragons make Ark a much more comfortable game to play, and they help players build and craft faster.
Equestrian dragon perks
While sitting on the Thorny Dragon, players can use its melee ability to knock down creatures. With some persistence and patience, gamers can even bring down Rex with this creature. It is probably not recommended for the player to try to kill the Rex, but it is possible. Overall, Thorny Dragon is a jack of all trades that can help players in many aspects of the game.
