Dragon's Dogma is a unique game, mostly because it tries to do so many different things at the same time. Although it adds a lot of interesting dimension to the game.
Here is a file save guide for you if you want to edit your save files.

It is better to look in the steam folder for DDDA.sav, it will open itself.
Your user data numbers may vary.
You can copy the save file for backup, I tried that. I put the old version back in place and it was returned.
How to create multiple save files in Dragons Dogma?
Step 1:
Go to Steamuserdata????367500 emote
Step 2:
Create a new folder (desktop) and copy the contents from the remote folder and paste them into the new one.
Step 3:
Delete everything in the deleted folder and create a new character by restarting the game.
Step 4:
Pay for this time and then save it. This will create another copy of the save file in the remote folder.
Step 5:
Copy the new DDDA.save file from the remote folder to another symbols folder (desktop).
Note: You must have two different folders with two save files.
Step 6:
You now have multiple save files and you can paste any character you want into the deleted file and continue playing.
