How to save a soldier in A Plague Tale: Innocence?
Players can save the soldier and earn the "Savior" trophy/achievement in Chapter 5. This is a relatively early milestone in the overall duration of A Plague Tale: Innocence. The achievement can be skipped, since the only way to get it is in the fifth chapter. However, there is a chapter selection feature that is unlocked after beating the game. Any player missing out on the Savior trophy or other achievements can complete the playthrough once chapter selection is unlocked.
While making their way through a battlefield inspired by a real medieval story, the player will have to knock several corpses off a tree to distract the rats blocking the wooden structure. Inside, Amicia and Hugo stumble upon a trapped soldier who is calling for help. In order to save him, players must immediately find a place to place a torch next to the building's entrance. The player must then throw an incendiary lamp to light a torch next to the stranded soldier. This will save him from being eaten by rats, trigger a short conversation, and unlock a trophy/achievement for the player.
Players who rush forward with a torch in their hands will push a swarm of rats right towards the stuck soldier.
