Jump Force features an extensive roster of fighters from various anime and manga, with a total of 42 playable characters. With that in mind, some players may be wondering how to unlock all the fighters in the game, and as it turns out, it's not that hard to do. At the start of the Jump Force story mode, players watch cutscenes, complete tutorials, and interact with some of the game's characters. This includes an objective where players have to talk to Goku, Luffy, and Naruto, who are the leaders in the game. After completing all these guides, the entire Jump Force roster will be unlocked for multiplayer game modes. However, unlocking all characters for single player use is a little more difficult.
In Jump Force single player mode, players will have to keep playing to unlock new characters. Essentially, the characters will unlock at certain points in the story, so players won't be able to play as all of them at once in single player. It remains to be seen how fans will react to this approach. Some would rather unlock new characters by completing certain in-game challenges, as we saw in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that forced players to unlock the vast majority of its massive roster.
List of Jump Force characters and release date
At the moment, Jump Force consists of five anime series and 15 characters. Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball series sent out Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza, the series' most popular characters (and the anime world's most recurring villain). Ichigo, Rukia and Aizen represent Bleach (from Tite Kubo). Gon and Hisoka present Hunter X Hunter (created by Yoshihiro Togashi). Naruto and Sasuke introduce Naruto (created by Masashi Kishimoto). Last but not least, One Piece (created by Eichiiro Oda) throws Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Sabo, and Blackbeard into the team.
Alternatively, those who are more interested in the competitive aspects of fighting games may prefer to have all characters unlocked at once, as it makes more sense from that point of view. It's also worth noting that Jump Force will be adding more characters as DLC in the future. Right now, Jump Force is scheduled to have nine DLC fighters, but the developers don't know who could be added to the game. There are quite a few possibilities, especially since some anime/manga only have one character representing them in the current game. Jump Force fans should learn more about the DLC fighter lineup in the coming weeks.
