Gray dwarf eyes are one of the many materials that Valheim players will need to upgrade, brew potions, fast travel, and survive this dangerous game.
The massive, procedurally generated world map of Valheim is teeming with all sorts of dangerous beasts and twisted undead creatures. But all of these enemies can drop useful items that can be used to craft food, weapons, armor, and more. One of the many useful drops in Valheim is Greydwarf's Eye.
Gradewarf Eyes
The eyes of gray dwarves are, as you might expect, cast by gray dwarves. These creatures inhabit the Black Forest biome. This biome is home not only to one of the first bosses of Valheim, Elder, but also to many gray dwarves, including Brutes, Shamans, and the main gray dwarves.
The only ones with eye drops are the regular blue-eyed Greydwarf. Gray dwarves with one or two stars usually fall in more than one eye. Luckily, gray dwarf eyes are a guaranteed drop from these creatures, so players can easily farm them in the Black Forest, especially at night when gray dwarves are in power. While Gray Dwarves have no weak points and players can use any weapon against them in Walheim, they hate fire and will avoid any player carrying a torch.
Using the Gradewarf Eye
Eyes are used in construction, potion making, and more. The most important application for the eyes are portals, a fast travel system that allows you to easily navigate the vast map of Valheim. Players will need to collect precious woods to get this recipe; Crafting one requires 10 Gray Dwarf Eyes, 20 Precious Woods, and 2 Sertling Cores. However, players will need a portal on each side they want to go to, so they will want to double this recipe to make a full pair.
Gray Dwarf Eyes can also be used to upgrade the Copper Knife and create wards to protect PVP Valheim players from letting other players infiltrate their bases. The eyes are also used to create a frost resistance potion, allowing players to begin entering the mountain biome without taking freeze damage. This potion contains 10 honey, 5 thistles, 2 swamp leech blood bags, and 1 gray gnome eye. This potion must be fermented in a fermenter before it can be used. This process takes 2 in-game days.
While there are no other known uses for these eyes, players may use them for decoration. According to many Walheim memes that can be found on Reddit, players will be captured by Greydwarf's eyes at the end of the game, so players can certainly have some fun with them.
